Shutter Speed and Everything After

Partner: Aarti Panda

1. Shutter speed is quite fast, possibly around 1/500.
2. One rule of composition displayed in this photo is the use of diagonals. The lines of the freeway create a diagonal bringing your eye toward the key component, the trucks.
3. An element of art seen in this photo is color. The cool gray ombre background creates a chilling effect. The bright crisp white lines contrast with the bright colored trucks. The color may not be screaming at you but is a key component to the photo's beauty. The second rule of composition seen here is perspective. As the photo was taken in the center of the highway, the lines of the side of the highway are drawing your eye into the center.
4. A principle of design reflected in this photo is emphasis because the trucks catch your attention and stands out,the bright trucks contrasting with the cool sky. The fading gray draws attention to the trucks as the freeway angle and lines emphasizes them too.

The shutter speed is a medium speed maybe about 1/250
